President’s Award

The President’s Award is selected each year by the current president and honors an individual or business for their extraordinary contributions to the Chamber. Normally, the selection is difficult but this particular award has been long overdue!

Serv-Wel Disposal & Recycling was established in 1949 and has been a member of the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce for 46 years. Mr. Bill Shubin established the company with a single truck as a simple trash collection business with a mission, “to give his customers honest and quality service.” Throughout the years they have continued this motto but with an even greater commitment to our environment. The business is still family-owned and operated, and is in its 3rd generation. As a chamber member, Serv-Wel has been a regular golf sponsor, has advertised in our newspaper every month, and has sponsored the YEF Destiny Dinner each year. CFO Mickey Shubin has served on the SFS Chamber’s Board of Directors since 2013 and will become a new YEF Board Member beginning July 2019. Serv-Wel Disposal and Recycling also sponsors the Santa Fe Springs Art Fest, Fun Run and the Holiday Basket Program. And they have sponsored the Youth Leadership Retreat annually for over 10 years.
This company is remarkable. So it is with great pleasure that as President of the Board of Directors for the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce, I present the President’s Award to Serv-Wel Disposal & Recycling.
